Dr. Katie Wood
Registered Osteopath & Registered Midwife
Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science)
Master of Health Science (Osteopathy)
Bachelor of Midwifery
Member, Australian Osteopathic Association
Katie has been a local South Melbourne osteopath for over 14years. After graduating in 2006 Katie spent the beginning of her osteopathic life in Sydney treating a wide range of patients from football players, office workers to professional musicians. It wasn’t long before Katie quickly developed a strong clinical interest in the osteopathic management of pregnant and postnatal women. This passion has seen Katie further her education, completing a Bachelor of Midwifery in 2013 to become a Registered Midwife. She currently combines her osteopathic practice with a part time role as a midwife at Cabrini while juggling the (mostly) wonderful chaos that three children brings!
Katie predominantly uses a structural approach to treatment, combining hands-on techniques, dry needling and rehabilitative exercises to assist patients in optimising their health and well being. Patient comfort is always Katie’s number one priority so techniques are always chosen with care and individually selected for each patient.
Grow Osteopathy was born as a way for Katie to bring both her professions together. Katie is passionate about osteopathy and enjoys working alongside her patients to help them understand their bodies and the cause of their symptoms to achieve their health goals. So whether you are striving for a positive and comfortable pregnancy, a weekend warrior or simply someone wanting to optimise their everyday functioning we’d love to meet you.
Katie has previously worked as an osteopath at The Clarendon Clinic and Esolab in South Melbourne.
